DAY 1: CUSCO – CHONTA – CUSCO

8:00 am – Depart from your hotel in Cusco in a private vehicle heading to the village of Limatambo. Along the way, we will make a stop at the Inca site of “Killarumiyoc” in Ancawasi to explore and learn about Inca culture and history. We will then continue our journey on a well-paved road until we reach the Huayronca bridge.

From there, we will take an unpaved route to the Chonta community at 3,500 meters. During the trip, we will make several stops to take photos of the breathtaking Andean landscapes, including the majestic Salkantay Mountain (6,271 meters) and the beautiful Limatambo Valley.

12:30 pm – Arrive in Chonta village, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch while admiring the stunning Salkantay peak. After lunch, we will begin a 1.5-hour hike along a wide path that leads us to the Condor Viewpoint at 3,350 meters above sea level.

Here, you will have the unique opportunity to witness the magnificent Andean condors in their natural habitat. We will wait patiently at the viewpoint, as condors usually return to their nests in the afternoon, typically around 3:00 pm. Prepare to be amazed as these majestic creatures fly remarkably close, sometimes as near as 20 meters from the viewpoint. Prepare to be astonished as they soar gracefully for approximately 2 hours.

After this extraordinary experience, we will hike back to Chonta village and return to Cusco by car, concluding our memorable tour.
